DIY Instructions For Creating Wooden Ten-Drawer Tool Chest

  1. Create the sides A of the tool chest and make the drawer slots. Cover the ends of the slots with strips.
  2. Scribe the top arc on both the side pieces. Now make the small arcs for the base of the sides using a round, small item to layout each foot.
  3. Join the two smaller rounds at the base with an arc one inch taller than the bottom using trammel points.
  4. Cut out the arcs with a band saw or jigsaw.
  5. Use a file to smoothen the curves.
  6. Fasten the crest strip N to the upper part of the back panel and craft the upper and lower panels to the right dimensions.
  7. Secure the components for the chest using 2-inch screws. Create and glue wooden plugs to cover the screw heads.
  8. Construct the sections E to H for the drawers and glue them together using butt joints. Clamp them in place and allow the glue to dry.
  9. Now rout the beading on the upper and lower parts of the drawer fronts.
  10. Plane and sand the drawers as needed until they easily fit into the drawer grooves.
  11. Create and attach the drawer pulls with dowels and secure them with glue.
